A LITTLE MORE ABOUT US

For people who
take a closer look.

The Nomad Truck is a journal of independent shopping, places to explore and useful finds for the journey. Curiosity is our starting point.

Good discoveries come in different forms

Sometimes it is a shop window that makes you stop. Sometimes it is a conversation with a maker, a market you had not heard of or a town that deserves more than a passing visit. The Nomad Truck gives those discoveries a place to sit together.

We explore shops, brands, products, services and places through the interests of people who enjoy looking beyond familiar names. Our aim is to give you a useful introduction: what something offers, what makes it interesting and what you might want to know before taking the next step.

A journal, with room to wander

Our four main themes are independent finds, markets and pop-ups, travel and weekends, and life on the move. They connect naturally. A market can introduce you to a maker; a shop can give you a reason to visit a place; a useful product can make getting there easier.

We like the smaller details that make a subject worth exploring. That might be how a business approaches its work, the practical qualities of a product or the independent streets around a place you are planning to visit.

A starting point for your own decisions

The journal is here to introduce possibilities. We do not sell the products featured or arrange travel bookings. Purchases, reservations and service enquiries take place directly with the relevant business. Check their current information, availability and terms before making arrangements.

An introduction to a business is different from a first-hand review. Where we describe personal experience or product testing, that should be clear in the article. Being featured does not mean a business or product is the right choice for everyone.

SOMETHING TO SHARE

Put a discovery on our radar

Know a thoughtful shop, an interesting maker or a place worth spending time? Send us a website and a short introduction explaining what caught your attention.

KEEPING THINGS USEFUL

Let us know what has changed

Businesses move, events change and information needs updating. If you spot an error, tell us which page needs attention and include a current source where possible.
